Puppy Yoga in Luxembourg: How Yoga Paws Came Home

At the beginning of August, a basketball court inside KORU Health Club at GRIDX looked slightly different. Yoga mats covered the floor, a group of curious puppies explored at their own pace, and people from across Luxembourg tried to hold a pose while being thoroughly distracted.

Our first puppy yoga pop-up in Luxembourg on 1 and 2 August was meant to test an idea. Instead, it made the decision for us. The warmth in the room, the messages that followed and the demand for another weekend showed us that Yoga Paws had found a genuine home here.

A Luxembourg story that travelled home

For co-founder Tea-Maria Constantin, bringing Yoga Paws to Luxembourg was personal. She grew up in Grevenmacher before studying abroad and eventually moving to Australia, where she founded Yoga Paws with Harry McCann in Brisbane in 2024.

Yoga Paws began as a simple fortnightly project alongside full-time work. The aim was to create something joyful for people while giving young puppies calm, positive and carefully supervised socialisation before they joined their new families. What began with one small event grew into regular sessions across nine Australian cities, supported by a team of instructors, event staff, breeders and animal-welfare partners.

In June 2026, the Luxembourg Times shared Tea-Maria's journey from Grevenmacher to Brisbane and the story behind Yoga Paws. By then, we were already asking a much bigger question: could the experience we had built be brought home and shaped for Luxembourg?

From one pop-up to a permanent home

The answer arrived during our first weekend at KORU Health Club.

We did not want the Luxembourg launch to feel like an overseas concept simply dropped into Europe. It needed to be local from the beginning. That meant working with people based here, listening to the community and building relationships with local breeders and carers who share our expectations around puppy health, handling and welfare.

Tea-Maria led the first classes herself. There were gentle stretches, plenty of laughter and the familiar moment when the yoga quietly gave way to puppy cuddles. More importantly, the puppies were confident enough to explore, play, settle and walk away whenever they chose.

The reaction continued long after the last mat was packed away. People asked when we would return, KORU welcomed the idea of making the sessions regular, and our next six classes on 5 and 6 September sold out before the weekend began.

What started as a pop-up had become the first chapter of Yoga Paws Europe.

What puppy yoga in Luxembourg actually looks like

Each Yoga Paws class lasts 60 minutes and is designed for complete beginners. You do not need to be flexible, experienced or particularly good at ignoring a puppy climbing onto your mat.

The session begins with a short welcome and handling briefing, followed by approximately 35 minutes of gentle, floor-based yoga. The puppies are free to move around the room and choose whether they would like to play, investigate or settle nearby. The class then moves into dedicated puppy time before finishing with a relaxed Savasana.

The atmosphere is light, but the structure is deliberate. We keep groups small, have two team members supervising the room and schedule proper breaks between sessions. The result feels spontaneous for guests while remaining calm and carefully managed for the puppies.

The puppies come first

Puppy yoga should be joyful for the puppies too. That principle shapes every part of our Luxembourg events.

We work with carefully selected local breeders and carers. Puppies must be age-appropriate, healthy, dewormed and have received their first vaccination before attending. They remain with their familiar group and are supervised throughout the day by both their carer and the Yoga Paws team.

Interaction is always voluntary. Guests remain seated while handling puppies, and no puppy is restrained or passed around simply because someone wants a cuddle. A separate retreat area gives them somewhere quiet to sleep, drink and leave the activity whenever they choose. Sessions are separated by a full rest period, and the studio, mats, toys and puppy areas are sanitised with veterinary-grade F10.

These details may not be the most visible part of a class, but they are the reason the experience works. When puppies are given choice, space and proper rest, they can meet new people in a way that supports calm, positive early socialisation.

Luxembourg is only the beginning

Australia gave Yoga Paws its start. Luxembourg has given the story a new centre of gravity.

It is Tea-Maria's home, the place where her family and earliest community are based, and now the starting point for the permanent European chapter of Yoga Paws. Our aim is to grow thoughtfully from here, building genuine local partnerships in each place rather than treating Europe as one single market.

For now, we are delighted to be returning regularly to KORU Health Club at GRIDX in Wickrange. Each weekend will bring a different group of puppies, a new room full of people and, almost certainly, several abandoned yoga poses.
